Awesome like a Possum! Putting on the Ritz!...and all that Jazz!

Late.

That's me. LOL.

But! This is your lucky day! Finally updating my current events around the CWS Fashion District, for you all to see!

First things first...I am sure all of the other posts exude my usual excitement for modeling, and the fashion world...[inserts "shriek", "scream", "gasp" "WOW" here :-)] but this post is going to be a bit of an add-on...a recap of the week in styling.

The past month or so has been exceptionally fast-paced for this chick's sLife. Had to photoshop a few things right out of it!...not being able to participate as vigorously as I'd have liked, due to time and graphical errors, was getting to be quite the nerve-wracking experience for a model-turned-fashion-addict like me.

Finally!!!! Yes. Just this week...the "MAC attack" is back! That being said...my iMac is back in tiptop shape and ready to wreak some serious havoc on the preservation of my sLife as it is known.

...and without further ado....

THE REAL STORY.

This week has been the best week in a long, very long time...for my virtual best friend Dani, and I. We have shared ups and downs...and all around disappointment on more levels than imaginable...but on the runway...it's like a sudden escape to paradise!

Participating in styling shows...whether actually walking in them, or just in the crowd watching...supporting peers...is a love of mine. Now, if I "am" going to walk in one...I like to be prepared. Don't get me wrong now...procrastination is my specialty...but even for me, preparation doesn't just include grabbing a complete outfit off of the marketplace...there are specific elements considered somewhat carefully each time.

When you feel that you have gained any bit of invaluable information, you should always set it forth as a part of you complete package...your repertoire.

That's what I do.

OK. Here's the quick breakdown.

MAIN FOCUS.
Make sure you include all the basic details important to you and your knowledge of styling...THEN...you may want to take a second look at some of these.

POSING.
[absolute last thing to consider...hahaha]
-YES...important...BUT how will that pose work with your outfit?...How will it work with your walk?
Does that pose relate to the theme of your style in any way? Does it draw attention to the prop you may be simultaneously trying to display?

There are a "ton" of pose stores, and packs...so when a creator takes the time to pack up a set and send it off to clearance...even if you don't know what's inside, take advantage! All poses are useful at some time or another]...excluding ones that jerk, of course...but in all honesty...I should tell you a secret...I've "even" found a way around those!

OUTFIT.
-When choosing an outfit in regards to a specific theme, what do YOU look for?
Do you try to tell a story with it? Do you try to "give" the audience a flashback to the specified era?
Do you just layer in accordance to your own style?...There are a ton of questions to ask yourself when choosing an outfit...sometimes you will buy more than one and never use a single one of them, because you found the perfect one, last minute. The important thing here is that you "feel" right in the outfit. Just be sure to wear the outfit you choose while picking your poses, for the best outcome.

Choosing the outfit that says "THAT'S MINE" is always the way to go. Doesn't really matter if you win. The experience, and the joy of strutting the catwalk with the confidence that your ensemble choice gives, is what lingers long after the night's end...well, that and if your shoes made, or broke the outfit LOL. [yes, yes, jewelry also :)]

LOADING YOUR HOUDINI
[known to a model as "Huddles" as I'm known to say].
-Always best to go over and over the poses you chose...play them...even when you are sure you're done and ready. Do it again! You may find that you have a pose that works even better, or slap yourself because one didn't work at all. It happens to me every time, and while I can't speak for everyone, I'd rather have that happen "off" the runway.

PROPS! [and as I've seen lately...Particles!]
You can always add an item that your pose can set specific imagery toward. Here are two examples.

Awhile ago I received second place in a styling show for the "Sexy House Maid" theme...notice the duster!

That duster...well it may not have looked like it but my poses that night on the runway were "duster-possible" Just. Oh my God I had that duster all up in the air, side-to-side, front-to-back. Work those props people!

Here's a more recent photo [taken by the lovely CWS model, Ms. Becky Kenaan] from the styling show that this post is actually about. Check out that cane! Addition of that prop, and a few other subtle pieces, changed the "Burlesque" theory, to
a more classic, upscale feel from the 1930s...than that of only a nightclub showgirl...

OK. FEELING LIKE IT'S TIME TO GET TO THE PUNCH LINE OF THIS POST, so look out for more "to-do tidbits" that will probably be edited in later.

BRING A FRIEND!!! [ as in heck yeah I totally got Danielle to catwalk with me for a day!]
Theme: Putting on the Ritz with Hollywood Glitz!...which explains the outfit choice you see in the above pic. I would show you what we...ok "I" picked at first...but you would thank me for wearing this instead.

So we spent the two preceding days before the show, to get together on the syncing of our walk, choosing an outfit, editing primitive objects perfectly, deciding if we needed a prop, checking makeup and re-checking poses. Time absolutely did fly away.

That night was my first time ever receiving first place in a styling show, and I got to share it with the one person who is with me at nearly all times in my sLife!...Could it have been any better? I can't imagine...and wow was the scoring close.

CATS and Robbers!

Very cool theme ["Cops" and Robbers] for tonights styling show, which called for some scary good outfit displays...in fact, I thought they were all great! Below, are a few pictures from the event.
Top of picture: Ms. Janet's beautiful...and very...flowy...dress...trailing behind her.
Far left of picture: Mr. Steve, and Anrol watching the contestants walk.

This is what dreams are made of!

Last night....

[March 12, 2013]
ok...let me just start with the night before that...suddenly I was re-inspired by all things fashion. I really don't know what happened [oh, yeah I do lol...the fashion show had me all motivated]...but it can only mean great things...

I was doing a bit of shopping therapy and putting together a few Facebook posts, when I decided to browse the university blog. I saw that the next evening would be a styling show theme of "Sexy House Maids".

There was no hesitation whatsoever...I spent rest of that evening searching for an outfit that displayed classic, but stylish.

The next day, I perfected my Huddles, with poses that complimented the style, and especially the duster in my right hand...found a walk that didn't drop my hands into the prims of my skirt, added a bit of jewelry, corrected the skin-tone of my N-Core prim feet, and off I went to the show at five o'clock!

I got up and shook out all my nerves a few times, while waiting for my turn to walk. That's the most hilarious part...I get so worked up right then, each time. It's such a rush,...an awesome feeling...indescribable...but so much fun!

So I know we are called in turn to catwalk, by alphabetical order...but somehow I went next to last...which means we went in order still, but from "Z-A" instead of the opposite. That made me even more of a ball of nerves! But I LOVED it all the same.

Everyone looked the part, in some way...I had my camera angle set on each of the other contestants, as their turns came and went. Then it was my turn. Aaaaahhh! By then, I was screaming inside!

Pulled myself together...step out...cue pose, [the pose I picked for default, is the one that gave me the confidence to do  the show that night at all. Click here to check it out!]  first pose, second pose, third pose, cue pose...breathe!...good to go...second dot...seventh dot! Styling card post!...and done!

Seeing Ms. Janet clapping was the highlight of my night really...standing on a dot off to the side..I waited 'til the last contestant walked..."time to announce the winners"...they said...Third place, Mrs. Ebony Baxton. Second place, Boogiie..."...wait, WHAT!!!! :D I. was. FLOORED.

Wow! Words cannot express the excitement that too place on my side of the computer screen that night!

First place went to Ladysunfire Erin, and was well deserved with the walks and poses, and outfit, that she put together in relation to "the Walking Dead"...a.k.a zombie slaying. Anyways...that night will be a highlight for me for awhile.

I look forward to many more fun-filled times of participation with the events of Classic With Style.

The 2013 Ms. Sophisticated Pageant
**and CWS Big Finale Fashion Show**

WOoOoOT! I made it to the show just in time!

Miss Liberty Lighthouse came to watch the show in this absolutely stunning [my favorite color "deep purple"] evening wear! My to-do list has every intention, of pinpointing the location of this dress.

I just found out this is Liberty's sister. Two very beautiful ladies!!!
Far Left: CEO of Classic With Style. Ms. Anrol Anthony, wearing a new creative ensemble that the crowd was to receive upon the nights end.

Had to take a picture of this dress...from the front...along with her ao...it looked as if the dress was sitting in front of her...or like...a headless person!!! Uh oh!!!...Turns out it was just her knees.
[unfortunately deleted the front-angle pic I had taken for you all to see what I really meant :( ]

Ziggy! The spanish ambassador?

I think that Ziggy caught me trying to take his picture. :)

Well...here's payback!!! I caught Ziggy's eyelashes leading the way!!!

Tiffani Celestalis possibly praying backstage before the show :)...and running through the upcoming dance routine.

Becky and Thrishia backstage in their Daisy Duke outfits.

Ms. Laci Rossini in very classic 50s era swimwear during her first solo walk of the pageant.

Frayar in swimwear during her first solo walk for the pageant.

Kiralyn Destiny backstage practicing her swimwear posing.

Ms. Rita Mirror lookin' hot in pink!!!!..this was during the swimwear segment, and her first walk of the night!

Miss Sunrae Suntzu in exceptional sexy cowgirl/swimear attire!!!

Sunrae Suntzu knows her stuff! She looks great in everything, and looks great doing anything! This woman can strutt that catwalk like no other. My hero!!!

"Y'all take care now, Y'Hear?!!!"
[she posted that phrase as she started walking backstage!!!]

Does it get any better than Sunrae?!!!! Somebody please tell me I am not dreaming.

Right-hand picture: ...JUST when I thought I had seen the best of the night so far,...the clothes went flying. For a moment I was afraid to look, then oh, its swimwear!!!! Sunrae is amazing at putting together her walk's features! Just LOVELY!!!
Miss Sunrae Suntzu...:) I don't know if this is true just yet, but I'd go as far as saying she is the "face" of confidence, and classic with style!

A few of my current advanced classmates and other, danced during the first intermission of the pageant. They did this while the models backstage, prepared for the next segment.
Twistin'
...and turnin'
...and kickin'
...and flippin'!!!

Boot scootin'...
Relaxin'...

...and doin' it all, in FASHION!!!

The next segment of the fashion show was Easter-themed...
each model dropped their own background set and performed a choreographed dance. The dances they did, represented their creative talents...and "talent" was definitely seen here tonight!

Ms. Laci Rossini is such a beauty in everything she wears! Always so put together...
this time with that air of victorian sophistication.
The expression of dance that she displayed tonight was absolutely heartwarming.

What a beautiful end to her beautiful choreography!!!

"It's that bunny hoppin' time of year again"...with Ms. Kiralyn Destiny!!!

The eyes tell all the secrets...The twinkling eyes of Frayar.

Frayar did an awesome job choreographing her ballet "Rockette" performance...or should I have said Broadway?

Eventhough she had a bit of trouble starting...it was wonderful to watch the dance!

 The CREATIVE TALENTS
of CWS Leading Ladies

 Ms. Rita Mirror's particle display...
but oh...the "way" she displayed the particles....
 this routine was AMAZING!!!!
I was in serious LOVE with her performance
 ..."and then there were hearts"!!!

Ms. Sunrae Suntzu won the best creative outfit/talent.
 I expected nothing less!!!

Here's why...

Sunrae showed us how to spread the gospel, even in our Virtual Second Life!!
I was exuberantly watching this model!!! She reminded everyone of the true meaning of Easter, and looked fantastic in the process!...She even posted a Scripture from the Bible at the end of her performance!!!

Pageant Question Time

Ms. Laci Rossini is the most elegant model ever. LOL...at least, in my opinion.

Laci was asked if she had to choose career or family, which would she choose...and why.
Her response gave credit to her career, as well as her family. Great job Ms. Rossini!

Ms. Kiralyn rocked that dress!
Unfortunately I crashed during her question, but arrived again in time to see this magnificent piece!

Mis SUNRAE SUNTZU!!!!! THE SUPERSTAR!!!!
spread breast cancer awareness and style, in one lovely package!

Rita rocks the runway, even when clad with LAG!!!! I caught her stuck on this starcase when she came back in...hehehe...but she looked sensually beautiful anyway!!!

The Last Dance Intermission...

With Ms. Lil Imp leading the way!!!

Ms. Janet Brink and classmates 'Putting on the Ritz".
